Rocky Balboa is a struggling broke boxer, earning extra cash in a meat factory and as a debt collector. Heavyweight champion Apollo Creed's current contender pulls out of their fight in Philadelphia. To keep up his 'showmanship' he suggests an exhibition match against a local amateur boxer, pitching the fight as a chance for a "nobody" to become a "somebody" - The American Dream. The match is supposed to be easily won by Creed, but someone forgot to tell Rocky, who wants to prove to himself he's not "some bum".
Steps that Rocky runs up while training
Outside the National History Museum in Philadelphia is a set of steps more famous than the building they run up to, thanks to one man who ran up them. Make sure you have the Rocky Theme playing when you run up them!
