In a million to 1 shot, the most famous actress in the world Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) walks into the small bookshop of William Thacker (Hugh Grant). After a second chance meeting, William's friends persude him that she's not unreachable - and so begins this romantic comedy set in London's Notting Hill.

In this opening scene we see Hugh Grant walking down Portobello Road Market. The pin point on our map shows the location of The Duke Of Wellington Public House which is the first recognisable landmark we see in that scene.

Hugh Grant's house with the blue door
The House with the blue door is of course Hugh Grants house in the film. However, the owners didn't like the attention gathered from having their home featured in a major motion picture and so now looks nothing like it does in the film. It's now been painted black and has a different door surrounding.
